Finally, the new menu is coming your way. After a few months of work on our in-house magazine Davaar has finally sent it to print. Pheeww, that wisnae easy. A lot of blood, sweat and millions of tears went into our publication so I hope it is to your suiting, and if not just pretend to Davaar that it is. It looks 'the biz' and Davaar seems chuffed with herself and includes loads of info on the business/staff etc...
The new menu should be a hit, look out for the new Stovies menu with 5 flavours now available. A few new seafood dishes as well as a sirloin steak added should keep everyone happy (I hope). Bon appetit

A weekend at Brodie's
Had a good weekend at Brodie's. Done a stint front of house on Saturday night and was delighted too see my old pal Angela up with a group of girls for there dinner. Angela was (whisper it) 40 although that was back in January, so I suppose its a bit of an extended celebration. They were well on there way by the time they left and hopefully had a great night. Happy Birthday! Another birthday bash was my new pal Mr. Nelson. Good talk the hind legs off a donkey and had a repertoire of truly terrible jokes, but was brilliant fun and had a great time, especially after I slipped him a wee birthday sambuca. All in all a good night
Its Sunday! Get to Brodies, we are starting Brunch.
Coming soon a new Brunch Menu that will run 11-4 every Sunday. Will have the absolute best of ingredients from Nigel, my butcher down at McCaskies for the ultimate Scottish Brekkie. Will also have Pancakes, French Toast and Bacon, Brioche with Scrambled Eggs and Smoked Haddock and a few other lunchy/breakfeasty/brunchy type dishes.
Not looking forward to the earlier starts on a Sunday but the new wee menu looks great and should be a hit pre/post cinema/shopping/church/family day out on a Sunday.

Some mid-week loving from Brodies
All new mid week deals will be coming in for the start of the Spring here a casa de Brodies. Sat down with wee Ally and brainstormed our way to a couple of offers to get the masses in during the week (hopefully!), After much arguing, wrestling, fall outs and tears (from Ally) we decided that the offers will be as follows
Monday - Soup and Stovies £10
Tuesday - Pie Night (selection of Venison, Steak, Fish, Chicken and Mushroom, Veggie and Nut Roast Pies) all £7 a pop
Wednesday - Fish and Chips and a glass of wine/pint of lager £10. Locally caught fish (still researching but should be pollock) thats is sustainable, fished from the west coast and onto your plate for a bargain price.
And you can't say fairer than that.
Looking forward to seeing if we can build up a wee following as we are using the absolute best of products all homecooked with some TLC, hopefully a better option than braving the cooker a home!
and for the record they were my ideas

Out with the old..... new wine list coming soon
Sat down with my rep from Inverarity Vaults, Mike, to sort out our new wine list that will be released the new mag/menu. We decided to take off a few that weren't selling very well, although it broke my wine loving heart as they are usually popular when I throw a wee dinner party now and then.
Some beauty's to look forward to though, for instance a really floral Australian that is a blend of Gewurztraminer and Verdhelo that should be an absolute smash hit in the summer.
Also got Chablis on the menu for the first time as well as an excellent Gavi and a belting Argentinian Verdhelo.
As for the reds got a great Chianti, a high quality New Zealand Pinot Noir and a Hermintage from Rhone.
New wines by the glass are Pinot Grigio and Chilean Sauvignon Blanc for the whites and a Chilean Merlot and Nero D'Avalo/Shiraz that is the only one to remain from the last list.
The slevers are tripping me sitting writing this, who's for a drink?!!!

The First Blog
So here it is, the first Blog from Brodies restaurant Glasgow. For all who don't know us, we are a wee family run restaurant right in the heart of Glasgow city centre (53 West Regent Street to be precise). We serve Scottishy food, in a nice, relaxing laid back enviroment, with a big emphasis on good service, wine and music (live musicians play at the weekends). We are a busy place, with allsorts of folk coming through the door, and everyone is made welcome. We've been open now for about 16 months and in that time we've hosted a few weddings (my wife and I's included, we own the place, we're Andy and Davaar), a few ceilidhs, numerous birthday and graduation parties and countless other events requested by or regulars (the Burns nights being a bit of a speciality, with Davaar's dad Alan doing a belting address the haggis).
Just last night we hosted a private dinner dance/ceilidh for a department of lecturers from Strathclyde Uni, it was a cracking night, with plenty of twirling and burling.
My wife and I started the place together after working in the trade for a while. Davaar was running the restaurant in Tiger Tiger and was there for about three years, she worked in numerous other place in the city beforehand, including Tron and the old Bibo Cibo in Merchant Square. I done some management work for Belhaven Breweries pub division, as well as cutting my teeth as a chef in the Cafe Continental in Gourock, then followed on by Milan in Greenock, as well as loads of other stuff.
Our staff include Ally, who is the Head Chef and my number two in the kitchen, as well as other chefs Des and Ian, whom i worked with in Milan (Des invented our now famous Chicken and Black Pudding Stovies). Front of house is where Davaar struts her stuff, along with Tracy (her best pal), Liam (my cousin), Cara (Davaars wee sister) as well as Hattie and Simon. It really is a family affair.
I am starting this Blog to keep everyone up to date with all our upcoming events, juicy gossip and general comings and goings of our wee home from home, I hope you read and enjoy
